Privacy Policy

BrickWise is built so that the things that matter most — your credentials and your store's commercial data — stay on your phone. This page explains exactly what is handled where.

What stays on your device

• Your BrickLink API credentials are stored encrypted using Android Keystore-backed storage. They are never uploaded to us. They are sent only to BrickLink — or, when your phone can't sign a request directly, passed through our service purely to sign that one request on your behalf. We never keep or log them.
• Revealing or changing those keys requires your fingerprint or device PIN.
• Your Bucket and Store data — items, quantities, your prices, remarks, stockroom details — are held in a local database on your phone.

What we handle

• Photos you scan are downscaled on your device and sent to us for piece recognition (powered by Brickognize). They're used to identify the part and are not kept for advertising or profiling.
• Price and catalogue lookups pass through our service and are cached, so a part someone already looked up returns instantly without another request to BrickLink.
• Technical identifiers are used for rate limiting and abuse prevention, and by Google AdMob to serve ads.

We do not sell your personal data.

The shared catalogue

When you look something up, the neutral catalogue facts in the response — item names, categories, known colours, catalogue images and aggregate price-guide figures — are added to a shared cache. That's what makes the next person's lookup instant and free, and keeps everyone's API usage low.

Only impersonal facts about LEGO® parts are contributed — the same information anyone can read from the public catalogue.

Advertising

• BrickWise shows ads through Google AdMob, which may use device identifiers to serve and measure them in line with Google's advertising policies.
• You can remove all ads for one hour by watching a short rewarded video. Watching again extends it.
• You can reset your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings.

Your choices

• Disconnecting your store removes the stored credentials and all cached store data from your device.
• Uninstalling the app removes every piece of local data.
• BrickWise is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Terms of Use

1. BrickWise helps you scan, price and manage LEGO® parts and prepare or push listings to your BrickLink store. It is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind.
2. You are responsible for your BrickLink account and its data. When you push changes live or generate XML, reviewing them is your responsibility. We are not liable for changes made to your store, for pricing decisions, or for any loss of data or sales.
3. You must comply with BrickLink's and Brickognize's terms and API rules when using their data and services through the app.
4. Prices and catalogue data come from BrickLink and are provided for convenience only. They may be inaccurate or out of date — always verify before relying on them.
5. BrickWise is not affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by the LEGO Group or BrickLink. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
6. We may update the app and these terms over time. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
7. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid for it — which, for a free app, is nil.
