FAQ

Do I need a BrickLink account?
No. Scanning, pricing and XML export all work without one. Connecting a store is optional — it unlocks live inventory editing and means your lookups run on your own BrickLink API allowance rather than the shared one.
How accurate is the recognition?
Recognition is powered by Brickognize and is very good on clean, well-lit photos of a single part against a plain background. You always see the alternatives ranked by confidence, and you can correct the number or colour before anything is saved — nothing is added without your confirmation.
What is the CMF blind-box scanner?
Collectable Minifigure packets carry a printed bump code that identifies the figure inside. Scan it and BrickWise tells you which one it is, with its current price, before you open the packet. Turn on list mode to check off a whole box.
Is it free? What about ads?
Free. It's funded by modest ads: a banner, and an occasional full-screen ad when you export files or push changes — never more than once every five minutes. You can watch a short video to remove all ads for an hour, and watching again extends it.
Where do prices come from?
The BrickLink price guide — both six-month sales and current listings. Figures are cached so repeat lookups are instant, and refreshed automatically as they age. You can always force a refresh on a single item.
Is my store data safe?
Your BrickLink credentials are encrypted on your device and never uploaded. Your LOTIDs, quantities, your prices, costs, remarks and stockroom details are never shared with anyone. Only neutral catalogue facts go to the shared cache.
What is the shared catalogue?
When you look something up, the neutral facts in the response — item names, categories, known colours, catalogue images and aggregate price figures — are added to a shared cache. That's what makes the next person's lookup instant and free. Nothing about you or your store is included.
Can I use it on iPhone?
Not yet. BrickWise is Android-only today. A browser version that works on any phone or desktop is in development.
What happens if a part isn't recognised?
You'll be offered a retake, and you can always type the BrickLink number directly. For blind-box codes that aren't in the catalogue yet, you can report them with a photo and they get added for everyone.
Does it work offline?
Pricing and recognition need a connection. Your Bucket is stored on your device, so anything you've already scanned stays available.
